Plans and pricing

Free is the whole game. You get every mode and every house rule on Free. Pro and Family only raise limits on things that cost us money to run, so every difference between the plans is a limit, never a game feature.

The Pricing page shows the current prices and limits, with the date they were set.

Is Rent Party free?

Yes — the whole game is free to play; Pro and Family only raise limits, like how many online games you can run at once.

What are the plans?

What do Pro and Family add?

Higher limits. You can run more live games and games over days at once, save more games to the cloud, keep more replays longer and let more people watch the games you host. The Pricing page compares the plans on these rows:

  • Live online games at once
  • Games over days at once
  • Cloud-save slots
  • Saved replays
  • Replays kept for
  • Spectators per game you host
  • Friends

No token, board, dice skin, frame or CPU character comes with a plan. Looks are earned with coins on every plan.

How does the Family plan work?

Family is paid per seat, you included, and the Pricing page shows how many seats it covers. Whoever buys it sends the other members a Family invite by email, and every member signs in with their own Rent Party account and gets Family’s limits.

How do you buy a plan?

On the Rent Party website, from Pricing. There are two ways to pay, and checkout shows which you can use.

  • By card. Choose Pay by card. You pay on our payment partner’s page, and they email you a confirmation. Your plan starts as soon as the payment goes through.
  • A payment you report. When checkout offers it, you make the payment another way and then report it there, with its reference. The team checks a payment you report by hand. Your plan starts the day it’s confirmed. We email you when a reported payment is in review and again when it’s confirmed.

Plans are sold only on the Rent Party website, and the Android app shows the plan you’re on without selling one. Once your plan starts, it works everywhere you sign in, the Android app included.

A plan doesn’t renew on its own. “How do you buy a plan?” in the Terms covers buying in full.

When does a plan start?

When your card payment goes through. A payment you report starts your plan once the Rent Party team confirms it by hand, and either way the confirming email gives the date it runs until: one month for each month you paid for. If a payment you report isn’t confirmed, your plan stays as it was and we email you. Write to us from the Help page if neither comes.

What happens when a plan ends?

Your account moves to Free, and we email you before that happens. Nothing is deleted in the move. Online games already running play on to the end, and Free’s limits only block starting new ones. Cloud saves and replays above Free’s slots become read-only until a plan covers them again, and each replay keeps the expiry date it already had.

Can you get Pro without paying?

Yes. Confirmed friend invites earn you months of Pro, up to a set number of months in any 365 days, and the Pricing page shows the current numbers. Each invite also earns coins and a badge. An invite counts once your friend has an account and their email address is confirmed. If you’re on Pro or Family already, the reward extends your plan.
