Table records
Playing on a real board over several nights? Keep the deeds, the bucks and the box in a table record, so nobody has to remember who owned what.
Open Table records and choose New record. Give it a name of 2 to 40 characters, something the table will recognize, like “Kitchen table, Friday nights”.
What goes in a record?
Four steps, in order. Each change is saved and logged.
| Step | What you enter |
|---|---|
| Players | Who’s at the table, 2 to 6 people, since a real board seats 6. Each has a name and a token. Link someone to their account so they can see the record and take their seat online. Only your friends can be linked. |
| Deeds | Tick each deed a person holds. Buildings and mortgages go on the street itself. |
| Bucks | Each person’s bucks, or leave it blank. Blank reads as “not entered”. |
| The box | The houses and hotels left in the box. The record tells you what the box should hold by the deeds, and Use these numbers fills them in. |
Your board calls a color group something else? Choose Rename on the group and use the name on your own board, 1 to 24 characters. Use our name puts it back.
What does the record check?
Before a game can go online, everything has to add up. The record lists anything to fix, and Go to it takes you there:
- A deed has one owner.
- Buildings need the whole color group, held by one person.
- A group with buildings can’t have a mortgaged street.
- Streets in a group can differ by one building at most.
- The deeds can’t hold more houses or hotels than a full box.
When it all adds up, you see Everything adds up.
What does the log show?
Every entry and every edit, newest first: when, who, what changed, and the before and after. Nothing in the log can be changed or removed. Use Show to see one person’s entries.
Can you pick it up next time?
Yes. Choose Keep as a record, and pick it up again next game night.
Close this record makes it read-only for everyone. You can reopen it later, and the log stays.
Signed out, records stay on this device. Sign in to share them with the people at your table.
How do you share a record?
Under Who can see this record, choose Add a friend, then Invite. Friends you add can see the record and add entries, and every entry lands in the log.
Your friend finds it under Shared with you on their Table records list, and chooses Accept or Not now. You can remove someone at any time, and they can’t see the record any more.
How do you bring a game online?
Choose Bring online on the record. Keep playing from wherever everyone is: the board starts exactly where your table left it.
- Only the person who started the record can bring it online.
- Every seat needs its person, linked to their account, and each of them needs to accept before the game can start.
- Pick who rolls first, then choose Start online game. Everyone gets their seat back.
The deeds, buildings, bucks and box come online as recorded. The start screen shows what comes online. A seat with no bucks entered starts with the amount shown there, and both decks are shuffled fresh.
It’s a friends’ game, and it’s unrated. No coins go in and none come out. The rest of online play works as usual, pausing and votes included.
Once the game is online, the record shows Moved online and is read-only.
